Engagement Types

What does a modern DevOps experience look like?

Published: November 3, 2021

In our blog introducing the new AxisOps website we talked about what we stand for in the world of DevOps.

Everything we do is structured around building towards your business vision. If you want an expert partner to plug into your team when capacity is stretched, then that’s what we’ll do. If you need us to take full ownership of your systems to reduce downtime and overheads then we can do this as well.

But what does this engagement look like practically? What is a truly modern, vision-orientated DevOps experience, from our customer’s point of view?

We think it starts with complete flexibility on how you choose to engage with us, which is why our services page details four options.

If you’re not ready to jump into giving us access to all of your systems or you’re not sure exactly what needs solving within your business then our ‘Consult & Advise’ service offers a one-off consultancy engagement to produce defined answers and outcomes. With complete peace of mind for your systems and short-term answers on how to achieve your vision, we have customers of every size who engage us on Consult & Advise projects.

At the other end of the spectrum our Managed Services option means all of your systems move into our environment, for us to take complete ownership of, on your behalf. Ahead of this happening we’ll make sure your systems are compliant with our best of breed reference architecture, so that we know we can keep them running to meet our comprehensive SLA.

Not only do you have those varied options of how to work with us, we think a modern DevOps experience means being able to move between different types of deployments, as your needs change and your business grows.

If you’re not ready to move to our architecture and Managed Services, for example, then we can work alongside your team within your environment on an ‘Assist & Support’ arrangement. One of the goals of that deployment could be to improve your systems to a point where we can come on board and provide Managed Services.

The reality of approaching DevOps in this way is that there’s an answer that works for you no matter what your systems look like currently and how far away from your ideal vision you are as it stands.

We’ve put a lot of thought into this so that we can provide customers with a service that works for you, rather than one that’s geared around us.
